Con Mucho Amor, a Queer Quince with Bobby Pudrido

Con Mucho Amor
A Event at the MACC with Bobby Pudrido

A Quinceañera is a significant milestone in Latine culture, a coming-of-age celebrated at the age of 15 to mark one's transition into adulthood. The celebration centers around one person, the Quinceañera, who is honored through traditional Latinx ceremonies surrounded by an audience of family and friends.

This event is a Rental, and it required the purchase of a Ticket:

Con Mucho Amor reimagines these traditions by centering queer and trans people, many of whom grow up feeling excluded from this cultural rite of passage.

What to Expect:
• Quinceañera Ceremonies honoring 6 local queer Artists
• Guinness World Record's Oldest Performing Drag King, El Daña (CA)
• Dance party by DJ Lavender Thug
• Donation-based bar
• Cake by local Latinx cake designerIf you are missing a family dynamic that no longer exists, or one that never existed. If you never had a Quinceañera or you never attended one. If you were the Chambelan but were destined to be the Quinceañera, if you endured wearing a Quinceañera dress but would’ve killed it in a suit.

If you watched your cousins and siblings experience this rite of passage and imagined yourself doing it, or if you were never interested in it because it didn’t feel like part of you.

This night is for you, for queer people, especially those of us with constant reminders that our existence can and will be constantly used as political strategy.

This project is supported in part by an Elevate Grant of Austin Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment.
