Barton Springs Pool is tentatively scheduled to reopen on Saturday, March 21. Barton Springs Pool will remain closed after Friday, March 13, to safely complete the Barton Springs Skimmer Project.

The project is removing and mitigating a decommissioned circa 1940s skimmer bypass.

During the removal of aging infrastructure within the pool, crews encountered conditions that require additional time and specialized equipment to safely complete underwater diver work. Diver and staff safety are a top priority in completing the project work. Weather may cause delays in reopening as well.

City staff are maintaining appropriate protections for the sensitive salamander habitat within the pool during the project work. Staff and contractors continue to work diligently to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.
