With Austin City Limits Festival load-out and Austin Parks and Recreation's (APR) Annual Maintenance period wrapping up, the western section of Zilker Park’s Great Lawn will reopen to the public on Saturday, October 31, with parking available via the Stratford Drive Parking Lot. The remainder of the Great Lawn will transition to Trail of Lights operations over the coming weeks.

Holiday Season Access & Closures:

  • Western Great Lawn: Will remain open throughout the holiday season.
  • Outdoor Volleyball Courts: Accessible from October 31 through November 16.
  • Stratford Drive & Parking: Remains open with parking available in the Stratford lot.
  • Lou Neff Road: Will remain closed throughout the holiday season.

Over the past few weeks, APR Turf and Zilker Maintenance teams, working alongside C3 and their contractors, have completed several recovery tasks on the Great Lawn. Efforts include complete debris removal, irrigation repairs, lawn aeration, rye seed distribution, and selective watering to aid turf recovery. Volleyball courts have been tilled and screened to restore optimal conditions. Finally, areas south of Barton Springs Road have been hydroseeded to reestablish grass.

On-going restoration work will continue and is expected to be complete following Trail of Lights load-out. For the latest information on closures and modified operations, visit AustinTexas.gov/ParkClosures.
