Suspect (arrested): Kimberly Sotelo, Black female, 34 years of age
UPDATE: On December 1, 2025, Kimberly Sotelo was taken into custody without incident by the Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force in Spring, Texas. Sotelo was booked into the Montgomery County Jail for the charge of Murder, where she remains awaiting extradition to Travis County.

Deceased: Gared Goff, Black male, 6/29/1973
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at approximately 8:32 a.m. Austin Police (APD) Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of E 5th St. and Trinity St. Officers and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATEMS) arrived at the scene and located a male, later identified as Gared Goff, lying on the ground. Goff was pronounced deceased on scene at 8:50 a.m.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation showed that Goff was struck by gunfire from a suspect who then fled the scene.
