Project Overview
Since the Summer of 2020, Austin Water has maintained a temporary vapor unit at the Westbank Lift Station located at the Laguna Loma Common Area. The vapor unit pulls air out of the wastewater pipelines (known as the collection system) to create negative pressure. The air that is removed is cleaned before it is discharged to the environment.
Austin Water will begin construction on the Westbank Lift Station Odor Control Unit Project which includes installing a permanent odor control unit, minor utility work, and replacing entry gate and driveway starting January 26, 2026. We anticipate the length of the project to last about 40 weeks.
Thank you for your cooperation while we make these necessary improvements to the neighborhood. We realize construction is disruptive, and we appreciate your patience as we work to ensure reliable service today and prepare our infrastructure for the needs of tomorrow.
