Wood Reclamation

Because not all trees are created equal with regard to lumber, the quantity of removed trees that will be suitable for lumber production will be limited. Thus, there will be minimal impact on the availability for existing programs such as mulch and compost production.

Staffing
Foresters will be available during open hours to work with public. Duties include having customers sign liability waivers, which must be scanned and saved in files, log scaling/recording, and data reporting.

Procedures
• Signage will be posted on the site gate on event day.
• A City of Austin Liability Waiver will be completed and signed by all participants.
• Participants will not use chainsaws on site and are expected to load and haul their own wood.

Reporting
The number of logs and approximate wood volume distributed through this program from October through September will be tracked by staff and reported annually.
