Aquatics Home
The Aquatic Division operates 45 public aquatic facilities, which includes 7 Regional pools, 3 Community pools, 22 Neighborhood pools, 1 Wading pool, Barton Springs Pool and 11 splash pads. In addition to coordinating open water events and swim team competitions, we also offer instructional programs such as masters swim, lifeguard and water safety training and youth and adult swim lessons.

One-Day Group Visits
Groups or organizations bringing 6 or more people to a City of Austin pool for a one-time visit must complete a one-day visit form. This form is for single visits only such as birthday parties or other family celebrations. Camp groups and day cares planning more than one visit must register through the Group Registration process, as required by city ordinance. For help, contact the Aquatic Office at 512-974-9330. Regular pool fees apply for all facilities with entry fee.
Swim Lessons
The Aquatics Division offers instructional programs for all ages. A wide variety of swim lessons are available for students 6 months to adult. Program registration for Summer 2026 opens Wednesday, April 01 2026 at 8:00AM for residents and 10:00AM for non-residents.

Lifeguard Hiring
Lifeguard training classes are available for persons 15 years of age and older, while water safety instructor training classes are available for persons 16 years of age or older who wish to apply to work for the Aquatic Division. For employment information, please visit Lifeguarding in Austin.
Swim Team
The recreational Swim Team Program is organized to develop the potential and serve the recreational needs of boys and girls who are interested in learning about competitive swimming. Swim Team Information

Scholarships Available!
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department offers scholarships to those who qualify. This scholarship can be used for swim lessons or many other Austin Parks and Recreation classes. For more info and to download the application, please visit austintexas.gov/pardfinaid. Please remember that these forms may take up to 3 weeks for processing.
