Join Austin Parks and Recreation at 211 Ralph Ablanedo Dr. for the Park Ridge Neighborhood Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, April 24 at 1:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place adjacent to the Cala Apartments in the Park Ridge neighborhood. This is an outdoor event, so attendees are encouraged to dress comfortably for the weather.

The new 2‑acre park was funded through the City’s Parkland Dedication program to serve an area previously identified as park‑deficient. The project represents a partnership between the City of Austin and Fairfield Residential, the developer of the adjacent Cala Apartments. Through the Parkland Dedication process, the developer dedicated land for public park use and constructed the park amenities as part of their site plan.

Park features include a shaded playground, separate small and large fenced off‑leash dog areas, BBQ grills and picnic tables, a walking trail, an open play field, and natural areas with mature trees and a restored dry creek bed. Sidewalks and trails throughout the site meet ADA standards to support accessible use by all park visitors.

Construction on the park began in 2025 and was completed in March 2026. The park is fully owned, operated, and maintained by Austin Parks and Recreation and is open for use by the entire community.
