In response to Austin Police Oversight’s (APO) recommendation in the case of Brian Bustos, Police Chief Lisa Davis disagrees and will not administer the recommended 1-5 day suspension. Officer Bustos stated that his decision to plead to a lower criminal charge was not an admission of guilt but was due to financial strain. Austin Police Department Chain of Command reviewed the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Department’s investigation, the internal investigation, and the memorandum submitted by Officer Bustos.
