Country Club Creek Wastewater
Austin Water is planning to update and extend the wastewater and water lines along Country Club Creek between Metcalfe Road and Oltorf Street. You may notice crews in the area conducting geological research as we plan this work. We anticipate construction will begin within the next few years.
Project Overview
We are dedicated to reliable service today while preparing for the needs of the future. The existing wastewater lines along Country Club Creek are deteriorating and at capacity, which leaves the system vulnerable to breaks and overflows. To address this, Austin Water will:
- Install 5,000 linear feet of new wastewater pipes with a larger diameter than the existing lines, routed along a more efficient path
- Replace 480 linear feet of existing water lines with larger pipes
- Install 500 linear feet of new water lines
Additional Improvements
Other City partners will use this opportunity to add improvements to the area:
- Austin Watershed Protection will help stabilize the creek and build a detention pond at Country Club Creek between Metcalfe and Burleson roads.
- Austin Parks and Recreation will create 1,100 linear feet of trails in the greenbelt between Burleson and Metcalfe roads.
- Austin Transportation and Public Works will install, Through the Safe Routes to School program, 550 feet of a 12-foot-wide concrete trail with lighting between Burleson and Metcalfe Roads leading to Linder Elementary School.
