Water & Wastewater Commission

The City of Austin's Water and Wastewater Commission reviews and analyzes policies and resources relating to Austin Water. The Commission advises Austin City Council to ensure Austin Water customers have safe, reliable, high-quality, sustainable and affordable water services.

Each year the Commission develops a work plan covering:
 

• Water supply and distribution
• Water demand and conservation management
• Wastewater treatment and collection
• Water quality
• Service area master planning and capital improvement project development
• Operating budget
• Rates and fees
• Community education

Austin Water is led by Director Shay Roalson. Reporting to the Director are Assistant Directors of Business Services, Customer Experience, Employee Leadership and Development, Engineering Services, Environmental Planning and Development Services, Finance and Operations, as well as the Chief Information Officer.
