CentroAmericanto Festival

The 18th edition of Centroamericanto Fest, will take place the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB MACC) 600 River St. Austin TX 78701 on Friday October 2nd and Saturday October 3rd.

Film Fest: Friday Oct. 2nd at 7PM at the Black Box of the ESB MACC, showing two documentaries made in Central America: “JERHY” a short documentary about the life and death of indigenous leader Jerhy Rivera from Costa Rica and the full length documentary “Cachada, the opportunity” an awarded Salvadoran film about La Cachada teatro a singular theater troupe that transformed the lives of a group of women from the street markets of San Salvador.

Music fest: Saturday Oct. 3rd at 7PM at the auditorium of the ESB MACC featuring local dance group “Amor por Panamá”, Dallas based singer-songwriter “Ceci Ceci” from Nicaragua, guitar virtuoso Jaime “Hulk” Varela from El Salvador via San Antonio TX, the talented singer-songwriter Gricelda Padilla from Honduras, and performances by hosts Mauricio Callejas trio.
