Krieg Athletic Complex’s sand volleyball courts, 515 S Pleasant Valley Rd., will be closed and the Roy G. Guerrero Colorado River Metropolitan Park trail near the east side of the new pedestrian bridge will be rerouted to reinstall an Austin Water reclaimed water line. The work will begin on Monday, July 20, 2026, and is anticipated to be completed by late May 2027.

Austin residents can take advantage of Austin Parks and Recreation's other sand volleyball courts at Zilker Metropolitan Park, George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center, and Northwest Recreation Center during the closure.

The project will replace a reclaimed water line that was destroyed during the 2015 Halloween flood event. The project will reconnect the reclaimed water line that was servicing the Krieg Athletic Complex. In addition to the installation and reconnection of the reclaimed water line, a damaged stormwater drain line beneath the volleyball courts will be replaced.
