Austin Police (APD) Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in a Robbery by Assault that occurred on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at approximately 4:40 p.m. The incident took place in front of the victim's young child and their friend.

A female victim was using an ATM at 5775 Airport Boulevard. As she walked away, a male suspect approached her and asked for money to buy drugs. When the woman refused, the male suspect aggressively pulled on her purse, causing visible redness on her arm as she tried to retain her belongings.

The suspect grabbed the victim by the arms, attempting to push her against a wall while she and her child yelled for help. Ultimately, he snatched items from the victim’s hands and fled on foot when the child’s screams drew attention. Then, the suspect removed his jacket and tucked it under his arm to change his appearance and avoid being identified. The victim sustained bruises on her arms from the suspect's grip during the encounter.
