Public Art Dedication: "Lithic Islands" by Jamie Spinello
You're Invited to the Dedication of Lithic Islands
Join ACME's Art in Public Places (AIPP) program for the dedication of Lithic Islands, a new permanent public artwork by Austin artist Jamie Spinello at Oertli Neighborhood Park.
Inspired by the honeycomb limestone formations found throughout Central Texas, Lithic Islands features seven sculptural forms set within a native plant garden. Together, the artwork and landscape invite visitors to slow down, explore nature, and discover the plants, butterflies, birds, and other wildlife that share this space.
Created in partnership with Monarch Sanctuary Project, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting monarch butterfly habitats, the project demonstrates how public art and native landscapes can thrive together while supporting local biodiversity.
