AUS in the Community: A 2025 Recap
Wow, talk about a big year! In 2025, AUS not only connected passengers to destinations worldwide, but also connected with our local Austin community. Here’s a look back at the impact we made last year:
Over 14,000 connections made with passengers, neighbors, students, and community members (dogs not included).
From community events like Blues on the Green, ABC Kite Festival, and Mighty Texas Dog Walk, we had a chance to interact and chat about the airport with over 14,000 members of our community. To put that in perspective, that’s more than 35 Boening 747’s filled to max capacity! At the 102 events we attended, we loved getting to swap travel stories, share information about the airport expansion, and debating where to get the best sandwich at the terminal.
Every time we greet people and say we are the airport, they perk up, give a big smile and say ‘we love the airport!’ ‘Swag?’ YESSS!’” says AnaLau Cavazos, Community Engagement Specialist.
It’s hard to say no to free swag!
$33,976 raised for local causes and served 2,000 families during the AUS for ATX School Supply Drive.
The Stakeholder Relations team plans and coordinates all giving campaigns through the AUS for ATX initiative, which began in 2024. AUS for ATX leverages the giving spirit of all airport employees to support holiday toy drives, City-wide combined charities campaigns, and one-off efforts like a recent food drive for TSA and federal airport partners during the government shutdown. In 2025, AUS for ATX helped raise more than $33,000 for local causes in our area.
Another major milestone for AUS for ATX in 2025 was a School Supply Drive at Circuit of the Americas where airport employees donated school supplies to 2,000 families. Alongside that, we also raised an impressive $1,233 to purchase additional needed supplies.
More than 250 attendees and 50 small businesses registered at Runway to Opportunities.
Runway to Opportunities was an event that gave small businesses and subcontractors a chance to network with the airport’s prime construction firms and Journey With AUS partners to learn more about the airport expansion program and how they could get involved. At the event, 50 small businesses were registered to be City vendors, giving them the opportunity to vid for contracts at the airport and with the City. It was a huge success and we’re looking forward to hosting another Runway to Opportunities event February 10th.
2025 was a big year for connecting with our community, and we look forward to what 2026 will bring as the journey continues!
