The permanent art displayed throughout our airport's campus is sourced through the City of Austin's public art program, Art In Public Places (AIPP).
Created in 1985 by action of the Austin City Council, AIPP commissions visual artists who work across all media to create site-specific installations and unique public art that reflects the history and values of our communities. The City ordinance establishes 2% of eligible capital improvement project budgets as a set-aside commitment to commission artists or purchase art for City-owned property and facilities. These cultural landmarks have become cornerstones of Austin’s identity.
