The Ultimate Guide to AUS: 10 passenger services – Some you know, some you don’t!

As you make plans for summer travel and getaways, we want to make sure you’re getting the absolute most out of your trip through Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). That’s why, for this ultimate guide of our airport, we’re looking at ten services at AUS that are dedicated to our favorite people: Passengers <3

  1. The Sunflower Lanyard Program: AUS takes pride in being part of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Lanyard Program, which supports passengers with non-visible disabilities such as Crohn’s disease, autism, dementia, and others. The program ensures that those who may require additional assistance due to these disabilities that aren’t visible to the naked eye receive the support they need to navigate the airport comfortably. See how it works and order a lanyard before your next trip through AUS.
  2. Robot roast: For a fast caffeine fix in the terminal, look and walk no further than the Costa Coffee robot coffee stations located by Gates 11 and 16. This is a self-serving coffee station that delivers hot and fresh coffee with the help of a mechanical bot.
  3. Grab-n-Go options: AUS offers a couple of options for travelers that need a quick bite, drink or what have you that doesn’t make you compromise on time or quality. To grab something before security, Barton Springs Express is located right across from Checkpoint 2 East. To grab something after security, Market [512] is located by Gate 12.
  4. Mobility Lounge and Assistance Zone: These services are intended for passengers with mobility assistive devices or limitations. They help improve navigating the airport and support these individuals’ journeys comfortably and safely.
  5. Smilin’ Guest Services: Throughout the terminal, members of our customer service team are stationed at posts (usually with “INFORMATION” signs on them) to provide assistance, answer questions, and offer directions for our passengers.
  6. Lost and Found: If you or your little one accidentally lost something at the airport, don't worry! There’s a chance it might be at our airport’s lost and found (excluding items lost at TSA checkpoints or the gates/on the airplanes), located in the baggage claim area. Lost and found is open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and you can contact them or submit a lost item form to try to reunite with your item.
  7. Trash, Recycling, and Composting: As part of its commitment to sustainability, our airport provides trash, recycling, and composting bins in the terminal. Passengers can contribute to environmental conservation efforts by discarding of their waste in the correct bin.
  8. Wayfinding Map: Navigating the airport is a whooole lot easier with our online wayfinding map. Just a click away, you can filter your destination at AUS by various amenities such as food options, music stages, payment methods, gates, and more!
  9. TSA PreCheck Sign-Up: There is a TSA PreCheck Enrollment Center tucked away in Baggage Claim at AUS. Why is this helpful? Because as part of the enrollment process, applicants must schedule an in-person appointment. We think it’s mighty useful to have an enrollment center right at the airport so that passengers who already have travel on their mind can book their next appointment to secure this service for their next trip.
  10. Tram to Rideshare Pick-Up Area: After a long flight, we know many people don’t want to take a walk to get to their rideshare. So, we offer a tram service that picks arriving passengers up right across from baggage claim in the Red Garage and takes them to the rideshare pick-up area located under the Rental Car Facility. The walk is typically 5-10 minutes, so we hope this service improves every conclusion to our passengers’ journeys.

That’s not all, folks! The next time you’re traveling through AUS, just know that your Austin airport is fully committed to passenger satisfaction, which is why we offer a wide range of services designed to help you. Plus, we are always looking for more to add! Got an idea or feedback on one of our services? Email us at AirportInfo@FlyAustin.com.

Safe and comfortable travels!
