Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, passenger traffic decreased in April 2020 by 96.6% compared to April 2019.
AUSTIN, TEXAS – Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, passenger traffic decreased in April 2020 by 96.6% compared to April 2019 with 47,781 passengers flying during the month.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for April 2020 was 47,781 down 96.6% compared to April 2019. April 2020 enplanements totaled 24,643, down 96.6%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 19,337, down 96.1%; American Airlines passengers totaled 13,255, down 94.7%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 6,130, down 96.9%; United Airlines passengers totaled 4,194, down 98%;Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 1,614, down 97.4%; Alaska Airlines passengers 1,493, down 97.2%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 1,292, down 97.1%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 466, down 99%.
April 2020 air cargo totaled 13,773,002 lbs., down 11.5% compared to April 2019. International air cargo totaled 248,187 lbs., down 89.9%. Federal Express carried 8,070,164 lbs., up 2.1% and United Parcel Service carried 2,531,621 lbs., down 17%.
Air Services transferred 134,946 lbs. of mail, down 86.4%; and 878,043 lbs. of belly freight, down 40.2%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 1,036, down 74%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 5,349, down 70.2%.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – April 2020 was 3,274,378 down 36%, compared to January – April 2019. January – April 2020 enplanements totaled 1,623,623, down 36.4%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 1,052,067, down 41.9%; American Airlines passengers totaled 625,666, down 36.3%; United Airlines passengers totaled 475,191, down 38.1%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 469,097, down 31.4%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 207,936, up 30.1%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 120,363, down 33%; Alaska Airlines passengers 118,773, down 36.6%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 116,115, down 33.4%; British Airways passengers totaled 29,217, down 46.7%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 18,475, down 69.2%; Lufthansa passengers totaled 15,883; Air Canada passengers totaled 10,317, down 46.7%; AeroMexico passengers totaled 9,915, down 15.7% ; Norwegian Air passengers totaled 3,474, down 77.4%;Swift Air passengers totaled 928, down 6.5%; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 643, down 82.6%; VivaAerobus passengers totaled 197; and Miami Air passengers totaled 121, down 84.4%.
January – April 2020 air cargo totaled 58,375,731 lbs., down 1.6% compared to January – April 2019. International air cargo totaled 4,516,670 lbs., down 36.4%. Federal Express carried 30,282,046 lbs., down 4.9%; and United Parcel Service carried 10,750,944 lbs., down 9.7%.
Air Services transferred 2,965,626 lbs. of mail, down 19.9%; and 6,013,693 lbs. of belly freight, down 15.6%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 9,877 for January – April 2020, down 32.9%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 51,255, down 24%.
