Austin-Bergstrom passenger traffic growth for April 2022

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) passenger traffic growth for April 2022 was up 121.74% compared to April 2021 with 1,865,046 passengers flying during the month, setting a new record for busiest month ever at the airport.
 

April 2022

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for April 2022 was 1,865,046, up 121.74% compared to April 2021. April 2022 enplanements totaled 942,940, up 121.17%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 722,855, up 155.1%; American Airlines passengers totaled 500,823, up 161.7%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 223,691, up 101.9%; United Airlines passengers totaled 184,736, up 95%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 83,295, up 80.9%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 37,661, up 0.4%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 35,948, down 21.3%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 33,698, up 157%; British Airways passengers totaled 11,573; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 8,860, down 48.1%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 4,920; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 4,605; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 4,176, up 378.9%; Air Canada passengers totaled 3,990; Lufthansa passengers totaled 3,324; Omni Air International passengers totaled 471; and Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 420, up 68.7%.

April 2022 air cargo totaled 28,717,839 lbs., up 49.15% compared to April 2021. International air cargo totaled 2,877,592 lbs., up 1,376.38%. Air Transport International carried 7,913,633 lbs.; Federal Express carried 7,423,963 lbs., down 8%; United Parcel Services carried 3,477,628 lbs., up 14.1%; Atlas Air carried 3,104,660 lbs.; and Amerijet International Airlines carried 1,294,141 lbs., down 48.2%.

Air Services transferred 702,037 lbs. of mail, up 0.57%; and 3,521,514 lbs. of belly freight, up 49.15%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 4,474, up 14.66%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 23,076, up 58.38%.

 

January – April 2022

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – April 2022 was 5,987,937, up 156.42%, compared to January – April 2021. January – April 2022 enplanements totaled 2,987,590, up 156.7%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled  2,272,292, up 191.3%; American Airlines passengers totaled 1,627,095, up 228.9%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 693,481, up 120%; United Airlines passengers totaled 615,295, up 103.4%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 273,381, up 158.3%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 155,958, up 13.9%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 119,045, up 9%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 98,677, up 222.9%;  Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 43,879, down 24.7%; British Airways passengers totaled 31,256; Aeromexico passengers totaled 19,024; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 17,247, up 1,877.9%; Air Canada passengers totaled 10,676; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 5,091; Lufthansa passengers totaled 3,324; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 1,159, up 118.3%; Omni Air International passengers totaled 471; Swift Air passengers totaled 301, down 57.7%; and Qatar Airways passengers totaled 285.

January – April 2022 air cargo totaled 102,289,198 lbs., up 45.74% compared to January – April 2021. International air cargo totaled 4,875,562 lbs., up 1,711.68%. Federal Express carried 27,305,145 lbs., down 6.4%; Air Transport International carried 25,190,782 lbs., up 757.7%; Atlas Air carried 15,032,047, up 958.7%; United Parcel Services carried 12,787,471 lbs., up 21.3%; and Amerijet International Airlines carried 5,564,716 lbs., down 28.2%.

Air Services transferred 2,572,303 lbs. of mail, up 8.56%; and 10,594,168 lbs. of belly freight, up 394.17%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 16,904 for January – April 2022, up 26.9%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 85,515, up 80.13%.
