AUSTIN, Texas – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) announced today its newest airline to join the Central Texas airport, with Porter Airlines set to launch nonstop service from AUS to Toronto-Pearson International Airport (YYZ) this spring. The new year-round service will start on May 21, 2026, offering Central Texas travelers expanded options to reach Canada’s largest city and a major global hub for business, culture, and tourism.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Porter Airlines as a new partner at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport,” said AUS Chief Executive Officer Ghizlane Badawi. “Expanding international connectivity is a key priority for AUS, and we’re delighted to welcome this new nonstop service to Toronto, which will provide our travelers with more convenient options to connect for business, leisure, and beyond."

"We are excited to welcome our Canadian neighbors to the Live Music Capital of the World," said Tom Noonan, President & CEO, Visit Austin. "This new airline and nonstop service not only makes it easier for Austinites to explore what Toronto and the rest of Canada have to offer, but it also opens a front door for international visitors to experience Austin’s legendary music scene, world-class culinary community, and vibrant culture. We look forward to sharing the unique soul and hospitality that make Austin a premier global destination."

Porter Airlines is a Toronto-based Canadian carrier known for delivering a more refined, passenger-friendly economy experience with a focus on comfort and service.

“This Austin-Toronto route connects two vibrant centers and gives passengers the opportunity to enjoy Porter’s unmatched economy experience on every flight. Austin is another exciting step in Porter’s growing North American network, with connections available across Canada via YYZ,” said Andrew Pierce, Vice President, Network Planning and Reporting, Porter Airlines.

The airline offers an all-economy cabin featuring two service options:

  • PorterClassic, which includes complimentary snacks and beverages, such as beer and wine, served in real glassware.
  • PorterReserve, is an all-inclusive option that adds extra legroom, priority check-in and boarding, and fresh meal selections on longer flights.

Passengers also enjoy free high-speed Wi-Fi, power outlets, and no middle seats on every flight, making Porter known for blending affordability with thoughtful perks that create a more comfortable and elevated travel experience. Austin flights will be operated with the new 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

This new service will offer passengers convenient access to Toronto, a world-class destination known for its thriving arts scene and global business influence. As Canada’s financial and commercial capital, Toronto is home to major industries including technology, film, finance, and advanced manufacturing.

Toronto visitors can explore the iconic CN Tower, stroll along the waterfront of Lake Ontario, catch a Blue Jays baseball game, or experience the city’s renowned culinary scene featuring flavors from around the world. The region is also a gateway to natural wonders such as Niagara Falls and Ontario’s wine country, making it an ideal destination for both quick getaways and extended trips.

This announcement reflects AUS’s continued commitment to expanding international travel options for the Central Texas region. With strong demand for travel between Austin and Canada, the addition of nonstop service to Toronto provides a convenient new connection for passengers and strengthens our airport's growing global network.
