Passenger traffic was up 147.83% compared to March 2021 with 1,822,198 passengers flying during the month
AUSTIN, TEXAS – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) passenger traffic growth for March 2022 was up 147.83% compared to March 2021 with 1,822,198 passengers flying during the month, setting a new record for busiest month ever at the airport.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for March 2022 was 1,822,198, up 147.83% compared to March 2021. March 2022 enplanements totaled 905,412, up 150.06%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 704,466, up 176.2%; American Airlines passengers totaled 479,722, up 226.2%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 216,582, up 117.3%; United Airlines passengers totaled 190,566, up 108.9%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 81,464, up 155.1%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 45,026, up 6.1%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 36,706, up 0.1%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 31,564, up 156.8%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 10,548, down 43%; British Airways passengers totaled 10,484; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 5,967; Aeromexico passengers totaled 5,197; Air Canada passengers totaled 2,913; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 486; Swift Air passengers totaled 301, up 49%; and Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 206, down 2.4%.
March 2022 air cargo totaled 27,946,613 lbs., up 48.94% compared to March 2021. International air cargo totaled 1,139,550 lbs., up 4,195.65%. Federal Express carried 7,928,121 lbs., down 2.2%; Atlas Air carried 5,642,129 lbs., up 2,246.2%; Air Transport International carried 4,872,248 lbs.; United Parcel Services carried 3,437,563 lbs., up 16.4%; and Amerijet International Airlines carried 1,866,834 lbs., down 26.5%.
Air Services transferred 608,237 lbs. of mail, up 1.63%; and 3,219,348 lbs. of belly freight, up 403.91%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 5,069, up 25.81%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 24,260, up 69.01%.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – March 2022 was 4,122,891, up 175.94%, compared to January – March 2021. January – March 2022 enplanements totaled 2,044,650, up 177.25%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 1,549,437, up 212%; American Airlines passengers totaled 1,126,272, up 271.3%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 469,790, up 129.9%; United Airlines passengers totaled 430,559, up 107.3%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 190,086, up 217.9%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 120,010, up 31.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 81,384, up 13.5%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 64,979, up 272.4%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 35,019, down 15%; British Airways passengers totaled 19,683; Aeromexico passengers totaled 14,104; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 13,071; Air Canada passengers totaled 6,686; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 739, up 162.1%; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 486; Swift Air passengers totaled 301, down 39.7%; and Qatar Airways passengers totaled 285.
January – March 2022 air cargo totaled 73,571,359 lbs., up 44.45% compared to January – March 2021. International air cargo totaled 1,997,970 lbs., up 2,592.32%. Federal Express carried 19,881,182 lbs., down 5.8%; Air Transport International carried 17,277,149 lbs., up 488.3%; Atlas Air carried 11,927,387, up 740%; United Parcel Services carried 9,309,843 lbs., up 24.3%; and Amerijet International Airlines carried 4,270,575 lbs., down 18.6%.
Air Services transferred 1,870,266 lbs. of mail, up 11.9%; and 7,072,654 lbs. of belly freight, up 388.86%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 12,430 for January – March 2022, up 31.97%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 62,439, up 89.76%.
