Sign up for TSA PreCheck on-site at AUS
AUSTIN, Texas – IDEMIA, the global identity leader and long-time authorized TSA PreCheck enrollment provider, announced today its new on-site TSA PreCheck enrollment initiative has gone live at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). It provides on-site TSA PreCheck enrollment to travelers as they depart for their trip with no need for an appointment. This new, convenient enrollment option takes five minutes or less, and most passengers will receive their Known Traveler Number (KTN) within three to five days for use on subsequent trips.
“On-site TSA PreCheck enrollment delivers a new level of convenience to travelers right at the airport,” said Donnie Scott, CEO, IDEMIA I&S North America. “IDEMIA is a leader in identity verification and validation technologies, and we are constantly innovating new ways to streamline TSA PreCheck enrollment. This service has proven popular with travelers at the airports where we have deployed this new option and now those through Austin can take advantage of this new convenient service.”
This new TSA PreCheck enrollment initiative began at AUS on June 23. IDEMIA TSA PreCheck Enrollment Ambassadors will be stationed just past airport security checkpoints in easy-to-spot uniforms with specially equipped carts for enrolling passengers in TSA PreCheck.
“We are thrilled to be among the latest airports to introduce this new TSA Precheck enrollment initiative,” said Jacqueline Yaft, Chief Executive Officer for AUS. “As our airport welcomes more travelers this year than ever in our history, increasing access to TSA PreCheck gives AUS travelers more options for an easier experience. We have been working hard with our TSA partners to improve passenger processing and look forward to our continued partnership and shared goal of delivering an excellent airport journey.”
“The easier we make it for travelers to enroll in TSA PreCheck, the more people can take advantage of the great benefits the program has to offer,” commented Gilbert Almaraz, TSA Federal Security Director, Texas. “This June, we saw 94 percent of TSA PreCheck passengers wait less than 5 minutes in security checkpoint lines and they avoid having to take off their shoes and belts and can leave their compliant liquids and laptops in their bags. This effort has helped us deliver the benefits of TSA PreCheck to more and more travelers each day, giving them a premium checkpoint experience.”
“As more Texans return to traveling, this initiative could not come at a better time,” said U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX). “I applaud this announcement and look forward to seeing this effort support travelers in Austin.”
“As many travelers come and go throughout Austin, a first-class experience in the city starts at the airport. This year, AUS will serve a record-breaking 22 million passengers, and I’m thankful for the work AUS, IDEMIA, and TSA have done to create a hassle-free experience by offering TSA PreCheck enrollment,” said Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX-10).
TSA PreCheck has an $85 enrollment application fee, which covers five years of participation, if approved. Please visit tsa.gov/precheck for more information on the program.
