AUSTIN, TEXAS – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) passenger traffic growth for September 2023 was up 0.13% compared to September 2022 with 1,775,269 passengers flying during the month.

September 2023

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for September 2023 was 1,775,269, up 0.13% compared to September 2022. September 2023 enplanements totaled 879,628, down 0.47%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 690,396, up 0.04%; American Airlines passengers totaled 395,304, down 10.8%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 244,257, up 17.7%; United Airlines passengers totaled 206,956, up 11.3%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 69,407, down 13.4%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 47,011, down 9.3%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 28,820, up 8.8%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 22,317, down 20.9%; British Airways passengers totaled 16,281, up 32.4%; Air Canada passengers totaled 9,086, down 15%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 8,707, down 15.3%; Lufthansa passengers totaled 6,263, up 19.9%; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 6,095, up 0.4%; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 5,763, down 2.1%; Copa Airlines passengers totaled 5,615; Aeromexico passengers totaled 4,809, up 5.3%; Virgin Atlantic passengers totaled 4,761, up 16.3%; WestJet passengers totaled 2,074; and Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 1,347, up 804%.

September 2023 air cargo totaled 20,998,984 lbs., down 19.46% compared to September 2022. International air cargo totaled 1,606,765 lbs., up 10.90%. Federal Express carried 6,394,514 lbs., down 14.7%; Air Transport International carried 4,614,653 lbs., down 45.5%; United Parcel Services carried 2,548,520 lbs., down 23.7%; Atlas Air carried 2,058,002 lbs., up 15.4%; and Sun Country Airlines carried 1,340,107 lbs.

Air Services transferred 121,042 lbs. of mail, down 77.76%; and 3,003,020 lbs. of belly freight, up 3.09%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 3,691, down 22.38%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 23,008, down 1.59%.

January – September 2023

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – September 2023 was 16,341,406, up 5.27% compared to January – September 2022. January – September 2023 enplanements totaled 8,158,533, up 5.01%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 6,225,934, up 4.5%; American Airlines passengers totaled 3,905,455, down 3.6%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 2,009,886, up 11.4%; United Airlines passengers totaled 1,837,466, up 16.3%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 674,256, down 2.3%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 615,283, up 51.5%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 295,526, down 6.8%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 200,267, down 21.2%; British Airways passengers totaled 141,342, up 36%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 74,755, down 21.5%; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 65,306, up 27.9%; Air Canada passengers totaled 63,374, up 10.3%; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers totaled 51,526, up 42.4%; Lufthansa passengers totaled 51,190, up 63.5%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 45,029, up 0.8%; Virgin Atlantic passengers totaled 44,582, up 102.5%; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 14,131, down 13.6%; Copa Airlines passengers totaled 14,074; WestJet passengers totaled 9,746; National Airlines passengers totaled 332; All Nippon passengers totaled 198; Nolinor Aviation passengers totaled 160; and Maleth-Aero passengers totaled 112.

January – September 2023 air cargo totaled 207,838,100 lbs., down 10.97% compared to January – September 2022. International air cargo totaled 15,186,136 lbs., up 38.33%. Federal Express carried 60,534,462 lbs., down 5.7%; Air Transport International carried 56,926,100 lbs., down 14.6%; United Parcel Services carried 24,299,382 lbs., down 16.3%; and Atlas Air carried 21,122,751 lbs., down 20.8%.

Air Services transferred 2,504,014 lbs. of mail, down 52.03%; and 25,775,955 lbs. of belly freight, up 4.89%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 34,686 for January – September 2023, down 10.21%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 204,936, up 1.81%.
