Seasonal service begins May 24, 2026, marking the airline’s only nonstop flight from Texas

AUSTIN, Texas – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is proud to announce a new international partnership with Cayman Airways, the national flag carrier of the Cayman Islands. On May 24, 2026, the airline will launch seasonal nonstop service between Austin and Grand Cayman (GCM) through August 09, 2026, providing Central Texans with the only direct link to the crystal-clear waters and world-class diving of the Caribbean paradise.

"Austin’s connection to the world just got a little brighter with the arrival of Cayman Airways,” said Ghizlane Badawi, AUS CEO. “By launching nonstop service to the Grand Cayman Islands, we are answering the call from our passengers for more diverse international travel options and easier access to top leisure destinations. This partnership not only strengthens our airport’s portfolio but offers Austin and Central Texas a direct, convenient gateway to one of the Caribbean’s most spectacular and beautiful destinations."

The new route will operate once a week on Sundays, utilizing Cayman Airways’ Boeing 737-8, featuring 160 seats including an exclusive Business Class Cabin. Passengers can enjoy free Seven Fathoms Rum Punch in-flight (ages 18+), a complimentary meal, free streaming in-flight entertainment, device charging ports at each seat, and standard seat selection free of charge. They can also travel with one carry-on bag and a personal item free of charge.

The flight schedule is designed to maximize vacation time:

  • AUS to GCM: Departs Sundays from Austin at 12:45 p.m., arriving in Grand Cayman at 3:45 p.m.
  • GCM to AUS: Departs Sundays from Grand Cayman at 8:15 a.m., arriving in Austin at 11:15 a.m.

“We’re delighted to partner with AUS to introduce new nonstop jet service between Austin and the Cayman Islands this summer, making it easier than ever for Austin travelers to escape to our beautiful islands,” said Paul Tibbetts, Executive Vice President for Commercial Affairs and Chief Financial Officer for Cayman Airways. “With a flight time of under three hours, passengers can experience Cayman Airways’ award-winning customer service, including complimentary rum punch and in-flight meals, while trading connections and long travel days for convenience and comfort.  Since 1968, Cayman Airways has connected the Cayman Islands with the world, and this summer, we look forward to welcoming travelers on board for a uniquely Caymanian experience that reflects the culture, hospitality, and warmth that make a Cayman Islands vacation truly unforgettable.”

Travelers to the island will experience a blend of natural wonder and luxury, anchored by the award-winning white sands of Seven Mile Beach and the island's reputation as the culinary capital of the Caribbean. Travelers can enjoy unique wildlife encounters, from wading with friendly rays at Stingray City to spotting the rare blue iguana at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park. Beyond the shoreline, the enchanting Cayman Crystal Caves or experience the magic of a nighttime kayak tour through the glowing Bioluminescent Bay await. Whether you are diving the Kittiwake shipwreck or enjoying duty-free shopping in George Town, the island promises a world-class escape for every type of adventurer.

This announcement follows a period of significant international growth for AUS, as the airport continues to expand its global reach to meet the demands of one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States.
