New large pipe replacement being put in place

Austin Water reports good progress in the work to repair a leaking water main near the Davis Lane pump station that services Southwest Austin.  Currently, there are no concerns that would prevent repairs from being completed safely overnight, but work continues and completion is based on field conditions.

While there have been no water service interruptions during repairs, Austin Water still urges customers in Southwest Austin to continue water conservation and refrain from non-essential water uses at this time.  Austin Water advises customers to postpone activities like washing clothes and dishes, using irrigation systems, and washing cars until they are notified that repairs are complete.  Managing water use helps maintain adequate reservoir water levels and safe system pressure to service the area.

Austin Water call volume remains below normal with no increased reports of outages in the affected area.  Customers experiencing any water service issues may call Austin Water’s Customer Service Contact Center at (512) 972-1000 and select Option 1 to report the concern.

Bottled water distribution point at Bowie High School, 4103 W. Slaughter Lane ended at 7 p.m. for customers near the Davis Lane pump station in Southwest Austin.  More than 2,268 cases of water have been distributed to customers today.

Austin Water will provide additional updates once repairs are complete and normal water use can resume.
