Project Overview

Austin Water continues to improve water infrastructure throughout our community, including bringing higher water pressure to this part of town! With the Starline and Lawndale Drive Pressure Zone Conversion Project, Austin Water will install 2,200 feet of water main lines, replacing piping that is 6 and 8 inches in diameter with pipes 12 inches in diameter each.

The blue lines in this map show where the new lines will be installed. After the new pipes are put in place, a few homes will need thermal storage tanks positioned on their water heaters to help regulate the increased pressure. These tanks will be installed by Austin Water. If your residence needs a tank, we will notify you by letter a few months after construction starts.

Timeline

We anticipate construction will begin in January 2024 and take 14 months to complete. We will be working in the city right of way. Once construction is completed, we will repave streets that have been disturbed by our work.
