The Barton SoCo Reclaimed Water Main Project is part of a series of projects that will provide more reliable service to reclaimed water customers. The project will include installation of approximately 5,100 ft of 24-inch main along West Monroe Street and South First Street.
The project will potentially serve Texas School for the Deaf, Nicholas Dawson Neighborhood Park, the Palmer Events Center/Long Center, and others who may be interested. It is an essential project in securing a looped reclaimed water supply.

In order to maintain reliable delivery of drinking water to Austin Water customers, two major improvement projects are underway within the Albert R. Davis Water Treatment Plant. These projects are upgrading and replacing several electrical and mechanical components of the plant, including constructing a new medium service pump station building and electrical substation building.

The Travis Heights Reclaimed Water Main project will add 4,500 linear feet to Austin Water's recycled water system. Also known as reclaimed water, recycled water is captured from drains at homes and businesses around the city, treated to a high quality at our facilities, and sent back to customers through special purple-painted pipes to be used for non-drinking purposes like irrigation, flushing toilets, and evaporative cooling.
